After Leer lost his three girls, he went into a state of depression. Shortly before his death, he began to write journal entries and songs. One of these songs was found and published by a good friend of his, Kent. The song shows the effects the actions of all those around him had on him and how they changed his view on all the events in the play from the beginning up to his end.
